the problem will be fixed in PTF level 5.2.2.0 with APAR IC37866.
Hi
i wonder if anyone could possibly be of assistance to me regarding the following:

The problem i am having only recently is that everytime a client node polls the

I think it is supported on Unix. Thanks.

As I cannot see an answer to this, I will give it a shot.
If you are speaking about virtual volumes for primary stgpools: yes, they
are sequential volumes just like the tapes. If migration will be from
diskpool to vvpool many migration processes can run simultaneously. If
migration is from a ta

It's not... otoh, DiskXtender (Veritas?) is, even with TSM...

Probably the simplest arrangement is to add a delayed dsmadmc to the
server start Ksh script to do your bidding.

Matt,
You are correct, this is an OS/SQL server issue.
You didn't say which SQL Server SP you were running...
We have seen a few problems lately when people have upgraded to
Windows SP4... and then their SQL backups would hang or fail.
This has been fixed by upgrading to SQL 2000 SP3a.
I am sure
Hello
I have a question concerning using a single TSM Server and two libraries.
1. Single TSM Server

Have in mind that in such scenario the 3592 writing speed cannot be higher
than reading rate of 3590 drives.
For better performance you can define separate copypool over devclass of
3592 and read/write at higher speed. You can do this at least for onsite
copypools if your library at DR site is havi
There was similar problem submitted to this list in the past but I cannot
recall for which version. As you are running basic unpatches v4.2.0 the
chances to have this fixed after upgrade to latest v4.2 maintenance (if
you cannot afford upgrade to v5.x) are high.
I have no time to dig the list archi
This usually is put into "DON'T DO" list!!! Standard recommendation is to
use separate node name for B/A client and each TDP.
It is good links to point the same dsm.sys file, allowing single point of
control. But the file is better to have more than one section with
different node names in each and

Hi All,
We have a potential AS/400 client.
We are running TSM server on Win2000 5.1.8.0
I'm not as/400 guru; to be more precise I don't know anything about as/400.
I downloaded Redbook "Practical Guide to Implementing TSM on AS400 sg245472" and try

I know that we have
Hi,
I noticed a while back that a few people were having problems with the IBM3584's and

stuck in the drive that is also the control path for the library.
I'm having the same problem now with both of my Solar
If you are running the TDP for SQL version 2.2 can you upgrade to the latest

Will the license file for 2.2 work with 5.2.1.0 SQl TDP.

John,
Try looking for a possible solution on www.ibm.com.
1. Go to "www.ibm.com"
2. In the upper right part of the screen, there is
a "Search" field. Enter the following in that field
ACO0057E
You will find an article written that address this symptom.
Thanks,

That sounds like pretty back level firmware. My drives are at firmware
version 3481 and I'm not even sure that is the latest level.
Our chargeback logic goes down to the filespace level;
most customers we've spoken to want to have chargeback by application,
rather than by unix group.
They can say "application X is made up of filespaces A,B, and C", so that's
how we've been working it.
Would this work for you?

It's set to 118 right now. I set it to 500 just for giggles,
the only thing it changed was "Pct Migr" dropped dramatically as
expected. I set it back to 118.
