This is the error when starting TSM :

Using it. Currently monitoring 3 TSM servers with it. Reporting, status
checking etc. works good. Before buying, use the demo first. PS. TSM5.2 has
monitoring stuff deliverd with it. Have a look at it before buying TSM
manager.

Karel

Hi to all
Try to run a select query on the actlog table for certain msgno in certain
period but got wrong result. Here my select command:
select nodename , msgno , substr(message,44,14) as "Message"
from actlog where (msgno=4961 or msgno=4964) and date_time=CURRENT_TIMESTAMP
- 1 days
Robert,
In place of your listed date computation, try
cast ((current_timestamp-date_time)hours as integer)<=24

Hello,
On the list I see on a regular base sql-queries with something like this:
- CAST(SUM(BYTES/1024/1024)
or
- substr(cast(min(start_time) as char(26)),1,19) as "DATETIME
or
- cast(substr(cast(max(end_time)-min(start_time) as char(20)),3,8) as
char(8)) as "Length
The basic sql I understand now,
Query your drives...are they online? If so then
query your paths to those drives. If you find the
path to the library or paths to the drives offline,
vary them on and try things again.

Chris,
Data Protection for SQL does not have a VERIFYONLY function.
You will have to restore the database in order to verify it.
You could restore it to an alternate name or stand-by server
if you do not want to interrupt your live database.
Thanks,
Del

We use it. Love it. Live in it daily. Using it against 2-TSM
serversz/OS and AIX.
Just implemented the vaulting feature for AIX. Our operations staff would
be helpless without this feature, when it comes to handling the AIX system
tapes.
The support is great. Very responsive.even to some

Our AIX admins are claiming that TSM has a memory leak. We are
claiming we
need adequate paging space (ie. 6 GB of memory, not 100 MB of paging
space) and that

Maybe your going to a different www.ibm.com...
Or maybe it's case-sensitive? Worked for me.
This is the noisiest list I have ever been on. Has anyone given any thought to

I too had a memory leak problem with my TSM server. After working with AIX
support for several weeks it was their opinion that DSMSERV had a memory
leak. I've since upgraded to 5.1.6.4 and my TSM server has been up for 58
days now. So, it seems that the memory leak problem has gone away. You

Hi TSMer's,
I am looking for a way to figure a total Gb of active files on a particular
node. We had a mini-DR with 9 out of 14 hard drives (raided) go bad. We
had to restore 400 Gb of data but never was able to figure what was the
total active files that TSM was going to restore. All the highe

Hello, Bill - This question came up a few weeks ago, and the excellent
suggestion was the expedient:
Active files, number and bytes Do 'EXPort Node NodeName

Hi,
I am quite new to TSM and trying to configure some setups by myself &
currebntly facing some problems.
My setup is as follows:
I run a daily backup for around 200 GB on LTO tapes. I permanently have 3
tapes in a 3590 library defined to a stgpool (UATPOOL). I want to keep the
last 3 copies.

Hi,
we went from 3.7.3 on Solaris 2.6 to 5.1.0.0, with some minor
problems.
There were some issues with Archives after the upgrade, due to changes to
table structures in
TSM, we were also advised to got 5.1.something, not to stay on 5.1.0.0.
Email me if you want more details
Regards,
What happened to the move Nodedata function? We're running on z/OS 1.2 TSM
server at 5.1.6.4. I read that there would be a move nodedata funtion
startingat V5.1.5.
In my environment i have only one tape drive.
To enable tape reclamation for a storage pool that has only one mount
point, you can define a sequential reclamation storage pool with a file
device class. (read " Reclaiming volumes in a storage pools with one drive
" from Administrator guide.pdf)
