I cannot seem to figure this out. I am doing a simple dsmc incr.
I run the backup and every time it backs up all files that are in my dsm.opt
includes as if it is a selective backup.
If I use -incrbydate, same thing.
I have absolute turned on.
Any ideas?

I applied the fix 4.2.1.7 yesterday, and all my troubles seem to be
resolved. I did a 'q lic' and the licenses i registered in 4.2.1.6 are all
accounted for. So do not try to apply the registrations again. No need for
that.

I wrote a script to make a Database Snapshot (with wait=yes) and a checkout
of this tape. My problem is the command checkout run before the tape is

In devclass FILECLASS there should be no higher mount limit than in
devclass LTO_DEV1.

If you mean that you have MODE=ABSOLUTE in the copy group, then you just
answered your own question answer! :-) That's exactly what
ABSOLUTE says: back up the file even if it hasn't changed.

I have been experiencing problems with throughput with my NT clients. On my
TSM server the WINDOW SIZE is set to 0. If I change that to 63 to

I am having a real hard time getting TDS v2.1.1 working. Has anyone got the
experience to help me through this installation?
Can I get some hints on how to set up the ODBC drivers to work. The TSM ODBC
driver is OK that part is simple but the oracle driver puzzles me.

We do this by declaring two separate nodes on the TRU64 systems. The base
node (base) is for the OS and all database files are excluded. We do backup
the redologs under base but use a different management class so that we do
not keep them as long. On the weekend we do our cold backups of just t
Off the top of my head, have the first script submit another script that
does the checkout. Submit this script to run x minutes in the future. This
is a kluge but should work. I don't know of any way to delay in TSM
scripts.

I am aware of a site where the individual is running v3.1 clients on HP
10.20. However, they are using Autosys to initiate the backup operations.
They have not had any problems with this configuration as far as I am aware.

I am getting the following errors upon restoring data backed up with TDP/R3
running on AIX 4.3.3 and using AIX TSM client 3.7.4. The server is a TSM
3.7.2 server running on AIX 4.3.3.

then our nightly hot and weekly cold Oracle "backups" use the

class and that archive copy group has very different retention

I am having trouble using GUI TDP for SQL. Sometimes, not always, I get a
message saying "Waiting for SQL server" when trying to restore fulls with
incrementals. Some incrementals go on just fine, but others hang. The
screen will stay there forever until I end the task from task manager. The

exclude it) TSM invokes the "retain only" criteria.
