what i'd do : select the volume names, then for each one call dsmcadm move
data command on it
step 1 :
dsmadmc -id=adminname -pass=adminpass -outfile "select 'EYECATCHER',
volume_name from volumes where-condition..."
will output something like :

Our backup-server will be upgraded to TSM 4.1.x (eg.2 i think) next

The only clients with Windows 2000 support are 3.7 and 4.1. So if you have
a supported ADSM 3.1 server, use the 3.7 or 4.1 client. If you don't have a

I just need confirmation on this.
I ran a number of sel backups on a 90Gb array. When I performed the first few

A return code 310 means that the Exchange Server reported

I am not clear as to whether the TSM server is running on the same machine
as your workstation. If the TSM server is running on a different machine,
then you need to install and configure the client code on the TSM server
machine.

Have you tried starting dsmserv from the command prompt rather than as a

started. Then cd to the server director /tivoli/tsm/server/bin directory

Hopefully this is an easy one.
Does the server command "disable sessions" carry across the server halt and
restart,
or does it have to be reentered after the restart?
Thanks,

The server knows where to look by checking a file called dsmserv.dsk. Do
you have a good, recent, database backup? If so, you can do a server

Hello g
Just upgraded from ADSM 3.1 to TSM 4.1 on an AIX server.
I can't get the drives on line. I execute the command:

and I get: ANR8420E
An I/O error occurred while accessing drive ACS0.
I have gone to Smit, and re-generated the devices, /dev/mt0 ...
I did try this ... thought the same thing myself. The .pwd files tend
to accumulate. Same results. No beer for that one. Next contestant
