For sake of shortness I have described our problem not very exactly. I should have
mentioned that we have first tried db backup/restore. Unfortunately restore db failed
several times. We have been told by IBM support that the reason for the failure is an
inconsistency in the database and that audi
I am trying to backup a NetWare Cluster and am having trouble with the
scheduling. I have defined one node name that both servers in the cluster
use and a single schedule set to run daily at 8PM. Is this correct? Since
any of the volumes could be mounted on either of the servers at any given

Werner,
I _DO_ think, that insufficient space actually is the reason. I had a
similar situation last year, when I tried to load a database originally
sized less than 25 GB (i don't remeber the exact numbers). I needed
several attempts and only after spending more than 40 GB, the LOADDB
succeeded.
Has anyone
been able to do a unattended install with the 4.1.1.0 client? I know that they
now use the Windows Installer method and I've had some problems running the
installation manually. I have had no luck at all doing an unattended. Someone

We have noticed the same thing, though I don't have any real answers at
this time. We have noticed alot of paging/page faulsts, so we are
increasing the memory from 2GB to 4GB to see if that helps some. My gut
feel is the the database is the point of contention (sp?).

If you want to take the TSM DB out of the calculation, try writing a large
file to the drive with something else, like tar.
If you get the same MB/sec rate, then the bottleneck is somewhere in the
drive/hardware configuration or in AIX.

The new drives are available according to "lsdev -C". The new drives have

Does anybody know how i can define a devclass ECART on HP UX TSM 4.1?
I try to make this, but got errors back.
The library is a Storagetek L700 FC (fibre channel) with 4 drives also in

Also the website told me that this is supported. I also did the

In this case you can tell the filespace was created by an API client (see
FILESPACE TYPE: API: LOTUS), which doesn't record the backup dates & times.
The adsm b/a client does.

Hi Richard,
Being slightly pedantic, it actually means that there has been no incremental backup
performed. There could be backup data stored for the node if a selective backup was
used.

Thanks, Trevor - quite so. Thanks also to Wanda, who spotted the
API being used, which I missed.

I would like to migrate my ADSM 3.1.2.50 data to TSM 3.7.x.
I have out grown my existing hardware and would like to divide up the ADSM data
