There appears to have been a problem overnight with the offsite backup
facility that the ADSM (NBARS) server uses to make copies of backed up
files. Repair technicians are at the site to correct the problem. I
will notify the list when I get word that the problem has been resolved.
Please note
Try this command:-
BACKUP STG storagepool_name copytapepool_name PREVIEW=YES
It starts a process that takes a few seconds.
Look in the activity log for results.

Jack - Occupancy numbers are excellent for seeing, by filespace, just
what has not
Is there a query I could issue for a storagepool that would inidicate
how much (in MB, percent, or something) needs to be put into a copypool
from the specified storage pool to complete the copypool copy?

I have just ideas in mind but I have lack of experience.
Is the following right way

1) backup the nodes
2) backup copy pools to offsite copy pools

Hi,
Can you give me some hints about offsite backup automation? Can anybody

Hello all.
We have a small adsm server (adsm v3.1.2.50 on aix) and will be bringing
up another small server (tsm 4.1 on win2000). The win2000 box has a hp
surestor dat8 tape drive which is not listed in the tsm supported device
list. I know that Tivoli says many devices not listed will work but a
