Joe - I think you mean /etc/exclude.rootvg. The man pages for mksysb
and savevg show the method, as well as topic "To Back Up Your System"
in the AIX 4.3 doc

its not that clear actually as far as excluding individual files. for ex.
how do you exclude
/adsm/log1
do you put
/adsm/log1/ or
/adsm/*log1*
