We had a customer who installed his application on d: (with windows on c:).
No files missed or excluded from the backup. His d: drive crashed and he
restored it. Again no files missed or excluded. Everyone expected success.
Sadly his application could not start.

Part of his .exe files ended
After spending lots of time working with Andy from IBM and getting some
special tools from him to check our system for needed updates and patches
and stuff, we have decided to simply forgo system state backups on this
2008 server.
Due to the vendors application on this system, we can't upgrade to
It's look like VSS writers issue,check the vss writers status, are they in
failed or waiting for completion state,if the writers are not stable,then
windows team have to check or most of the time server reboot will fix the
vss writers issue,Hence check with your Wintel team.
