Yes, we use the checklabel=barcode option on tapes that TSM has already
initialized in the past. If they are brand new tapes, we use 'label
libvol'.

Well, a lot of info here. Several things.
1. Use 'checkin libv 3584lib search=bulk status=scratch waitt=0'
and the "reply" is no longer needed - as long as tapes are in I/O port
first. The "waittime" parameter was added at TSM 5.3. Makes

Finally started moving our TSM server off the main frame to a new AIX
Server. The consultant created AIX scripts for most of the automatic
processing but I am having problems with the checkin process. I ran the
following script and it completes successfully but there are errors in my
activity lo
I don't understand the 3494 'checkin' part because we don't have a window
but only a bulk I/O area (which should be called bulk O/O area since its
only used for output. :-) We just open the 3494 and stick them in empty
slots and 3494 does a inventory refresh (not re-inventory) and they become
