The reuse delay is a protection against overwriting volumes in case of a
disaster (in this case losing you ITSM database and having to restore
it). The reuse delay should be as long as your database back-up
retention.
In real life, I use a reuse delay of 1 day for the primary tapepools an

I believe that is a bit risky. A Reuse Delay of zero means a tape is a
candidate for reuse immediately after being emptied. If you reuse your
tapes that soon, and you have to restore back to an earlier DB backup,
there will be lots of files that are no longer where TSM expects to fin

I believe that the primary storage pools should have a reuse parameter of 0
and your reuse delay should be the same retention as the database backup
retention so that you can go back in history. I believe that there is
