I believe you can wildcard the VM name:
INCLUDE.VMDISK * "Hard Disk 1"

Hi,
you can look up in the SUMMARY_EXTENDED table which VMs are backed up by
the specific node with a specific schedule:
tsm: ZEUSSERV>select SUB_ENTITY from summary_extended where
ENTITY='MY_DATAMOVER_NODE' and SUB_ENTITY<>'' and
SCHEDULE_NAME='SCHEDULENAME'
SUB_ENTITY: MZ_VM_1
SUB_ENTITY:
It's easy to find this out from the admin cli. Just do a q sched * *
nodes=datamover That will show all schedules associated with a given
node.
ie:
tsm: TSMSK>q sched * * nodes=stnsvpmover02
Domain * Schedule NameAction Start Date/Time
Duration Period Da

Hi Gary and Del;
The TSM 7.1 Backup Archive Guide for Windows includes HYPERVFULL, along with
FIle and FUllvm, in the possible arguments for the VMBACKUPType option. The
description says it is "Required for Hyper-V systems. Specified a full virtual
machine backup of all virtual machines that are
Hello,
we also have such situation.
vmWare + hyoer-V. vmware is for DB+app mainly since hyper-v is for MS
infra only (link,exchange, AD, etc)

Hi Gary,
We are very aware of this requirement.
1. What are your top use cases for this environment?
2. What % of VMware vs. Hyper-V do you have?
3. Are you migrating from one to the other? ... or do you foresee keeping
both?
Thank you,
Del

That's what we did. We're still using the old v5 reporting module and I
built a little report that does a filespace query and shows the age and
backup date of each. That gives you a rough way to determine if a backup
failed because its age will differ from the rest of the nodes in that
schedule.
Robert,
To get a quick idea of what happened last night, we run these two commands from
the admin client. Our backup schedules start at 18:00 The first one displays
the failures, which is of most interest. The second one displays the successes.
q act begind=-1 begint=18:00 msg=4174
q act begind
You can query the last backup date for the filespaces in your Datacenter node,
where all the VM backups live. That will at least let you know if you're
current.
