So I can stop with my multisession restore tests as TSM itself decides
wether it
uses one or more drives for ist "multi session" restore ;-)

How multisession restore decides to use multiple sessions is somewhat
dependent on timing and other unpredictable run-time factors. There is no
guarantee two files will be restored with separate sessions (in parallel)
just because they happen to reside on two separate tapes.

My guess is that you are not doing a "No Query Restore" (NQR). The only
way TSM will do a multisession restore is if you are doing a NQR. And
the trick with this is that it mus be an unrestricted wild card
specification on the restore command. If you look in the client
