As you are aware, your 3575 goes through "initialize element status" when the door is opened or it is powered on. This means that the library does a self audit and holds the info regarding which volsers relate to which elements (slots). When you do a checklabel=barcode during your audit, the info

It actually "reads" the memory on the library as to the tape inventory. I have 3575-L32 and 3584-L32, works same with both. To really "force" barcode read you have to have library itself do an inventory, then run auidit again with checklabel=barcode. I find the great majority of the time just th

Hi All, Why when I perform the following: audit library LIBRARYNAME checklabel=barcode, it does not appear to do an actual scan using the barcode reader at all. The only way I can get a true audit is to omit the checklabel, which forces tape mounts, which takes a long time to complete the audit
