Thank you for your answers. We do not use compression or encryption (except on
2 servers) and our video files will not be in the copy pool. So we will go with
the VTL then.

Why not just configure your old primary pool to use the new primary pool as its
"next stg pool" and migrate. Then perform a backup stg pool from the new
primary to your new copy pool? Once all data has been migrated and backed up,
delete the old pools

accept the high number of scratch used) BEFORE I migrate the data from old
primary stg to new primary stg.

reclamation is supposed to proceed, and also how we think it does in
fact proceed. ;)
Noodling around in the docs and QuickFacts, I find that volumes of a
devclass of type SERVER "may not be set to access=offsite", and

COPYSTGpools--=copypoolname option. For the syntax just type help
update stgpool at the command line.
The documentation says it works with both random and sequential access
methods, but i have never been able to get it to work on random.
