Is this an AUDIT DB you are running or DSMSERV AUDITDB?
DSMSERV AUDITDB is normally run as recommended by IBM support, who should
tell you the parameters to use with it.
Be aware that it can take a *very* long time to run. I ran one against a
120gb database during a DR test and stopped it after

Having recently done several of these, I can say that "audit db"
is, to a large extent, CPU bound. We copied a DB snapshot to a
faster box (1281 MHz UltraSPARC IIIi) to run the audit, which
ran for 30 hours. On the prod box (400 MHz US-II) it would've
taken probably at least 3x as
long it will take.

Hi Tsm Experts,
Can anybody tell me what will be the estimated time to do an 'AUDIT DB' of 10 GB of
TSM DATABASE with 4 GB of recovery log?
Are there any specific precautions/instructions for this ?
If i know Estimated time i can plan my TSM shutdown.
Thanks and Regar
HI all
Last week we got page mismatch errors during database backups on our
production tsm server. In the end we restored from a previous good database
backup on the understanding that a dsmserv audit db would take too long.
However me being curious, I copied across the database dsm files when

Hello,
I had a problem with my TSM db, it couldn't make a reclamation with an

So I am trying to do an auditdb but the problem is that I get the
followings messages :

Hello,
Just pure curiosity, what forced you to do an Audit db?
If I had a 3 days service window I would do an Unload db. In the end of the
Load db I would be asked to do an Audit db if there was a need for it.

Good morning,
last weekend i use a 3 day servicewindow to do a audit db on our two tsm-server.
Here my experience:

Hello,

We have to do an audit db. DB is 30 GB in size.
Support can't say how much time it takes to audit the whole db and adviced
to audit the db in parts.

running on a W2K box. I've been checking my options and
there is the audit library command. But there is also the audit db procedure, which is
a little bit controversial, some like it, some fear it.
I really need to check my TSM database against the tapes used for backup and archive
operation

Hi all
TSM 3738 (I know it's old, but IBM are coming in to upgrade us next
week and I have been asked to run an audit DB first).
Running on Solaris 2.7 machine.
This weekend I shall run an audit DB on our 6GB database. Can someone
please tell me the exact process for doing this.

hi
first of all thanks to Richard Sims and Gerhard Dicty who gave me
interesting information
so, to whoever it might concern, here are 2 facts to consider :
- with adsm v3.1, it may happen that you have to run an "audit db" to
correct internal database errors. it seems you have to
