Hi Brian, We Restored a 130 GB database in 2 hours due to multiple restore sessions on a Gigabyte backbone. Now, the DBA had to kick off 6 separate streams and since a great deal was on tape some of the streams waited for each other, but I'd rather have it waiting then not doing anything if

I currently have a 60GB TSM database mirrored for a total of 120GB (also including Recovery logs 5 GB each 10GB total). I have heard that this is big for 1 Server and would like to ask if other TSMers split their Servers and what is the rule of thumb. It took 8 hours to restore DB at DR vs the 4

Hi TSM users, Does anyone have a TSM recommended layout of SCSI connected DASD (18, and 36 GB drives) to an SP frame? Raided, nonraided, mirrored, or striped? Also what kind of grouping? Large amounts? or small? We want performance and high disk utilization at the same time. Our TSM db is nonr

Has anyone out there had any kind of FTP/TSM speed problems and what have they done to fix them. We seem to be getting 1-2 GB an hour speed on 100 MB Ethernet cards, even with RESOURCEUTILIZATION 5. The server is an AIX SP-node at 5.1.0.5, and the Linux86 clients are from 4.2.0 to 5.1.5.0. Seems

How about using the Policy Domain to schedule a backup every so often. We are thinking of doing this and changing the Copy Mode (in the Backup Copy Group) to Absolute causing the backup to be a full and this will bring the node date closer for faster restores. Thank You, Bill Rosette Data Center/

We have had to turn our Journaling off of 2 NT servers, one an NT 4.0 box, and the other a Win 2000 box. Both are using 5.1.0.1 TSM clients. The reason we had to turn off was that the server would hang in the middle of backing up. Since turning off this has not been a problem. We seem to think

We use Server prompted on all backups, with the SCHEDMODE PROMPTED in the dsm.sys, or dsm.opt files depending on the OS. I don't think this will help with the DMZ though. Thank You, Bill Rosette Data Center/IS/Papa Johns International WWJD Farren Minns
