What is putting these tapes in an unavailable state? I will try the
restore vol command today and I'll report back what kind of luck I find.

Right. That makes sense. The problem is that some tapes have slipped
through the cracks and I need to get the data back on the onsite tapes.
This function has been working for the past 2 years and recently popped

I have setup TSM sever 4.1on an AIX 4.3.3 box for a DR test this week. So
far the install works fineother than one major glitch. The DDS2 SCSI
tape drive in the machine will not mount tapes when called by TSM. The
client reports "Server Media Mount not possible" and the servers output
reads "i
I run TSM 4.1.2 on an AIX 4.3.3 platform, for testing purposes, I'd like to
off-load my TSM DB to an NT installation of TSM (same version), is this
possible, if so how can I accomplish this?
I was looking through some of our logs when I noticed a large chunk of
numbers missing from our volume definitions (we have a 3590 automated
library). I went to the tape robot's console and performed a search for one
of these "missing tapes" and sure enough it found it (I then opened the
door and
TSM spit out a tape this morning with it's DRM offsite tapes. I can not
find where it is defined to our server by doing a q libv or a q vol. When I
try to check it in or redefine it to the server it says that it is already
defined or that it contains export data. What does this mean? How do I get
What would the command be to show utilization of the tape vs. the client's
data. With collocation turned off, this command doesn't help too much by
itself. How would I query how much space is taken in my pool overall by one
client?
Is there a way to turn collocation on for just one client without
separating it in another stgpool with collocation on?
I'd like to export the times that I have both backup and admin schedules
running to be able to better optimize the schedules. Any tips on exporting
this to another program. Just the times and their duration.

ther.
We may need to get a trace to see what is happening.

Anyone out there ever have any trouble with TDP for Domino losing restore
capabilities for DBs that start with a certain letter. Ours won't list any
past the letter "D". The way the scroll bar works, it doesn't show all DBs

If your volhist is still present and not corrupted, if you tape has been
moved back via MOVE MEDIA and if your tape has been checked in, just
type:
dsmserv restore db todate=xx:xx: totime=xx:xx
and the TSM server will use the volume corresponding to the tape just
back from off-site.

Need to restore out TSM database but the volume that the DB backup in on is
listed as VAULT. I have the tape in the automated library, how do I check
it in to restore from it??
My database restore list in the TDP for Domino is cutting of on the DBs
available for restore that start with "R", even though we have many that
follow that. Is this a result of TSM DB corruption? What do I need to do to
fix this?

Does anyone have any really good sources that I can use to study for the
699 test? I've taken it once and failed ... I am studying the redbooks, but
I'm looking for some notes that are more geared towards exam prep. Any help
is appreciated.

It's awful. We had to rewrite 70% of the batch files to simply get the
product to work with NT in an AIX environment. Go download the DR redbook
and make your own process. It will work ... as opposed to this product.

How would I send specific events (i.e. failed scheduled events, db backup
failure, etc.) through Notes or sendmail to an e-mail address? I'm running
the TSM sever on AIX 4.3.3.
