There is a nice set of instructions in the TSM
Administrator's Guide called "Recovering a Lost or
Damaged Storage Pool Volume". It details pretty much
everything you need to do.

Well, technically, you will have one backup (or more
depending on your policy definition) and one migrated
copy. But to answer your question, yes - you will
have another copy of the file that is the migrated
copy - separate from the backup copy.

Is there a list anywhere of acceptable brands of
cleaning tapes for IBM Ultrium tape drives? Does it
really matter what brand you use? The manager who
purchases that sort of thing brought in some EMTech
cleaning tapes.

I just got my copy of TDP for SQL v2.2.1. What
backup/archive client version(s) does this work with?
Haven't yet been able to find that information from

It can also clue you in to a filespace that is not

I had the problem you described, but with AIX
participants (AIX server, AIX clients).
The problem is that the client machine (that has the
nfs mount) tries to access a file that is HSM'd. The
"wait" messages that you would see if you tried to
access the file from the server are not passed to the

I personally think your high and low thresholds are a
low. Of course, I don't know how fast your system
grows, but somewhere in the 75% high down to 50% low
seems more reasonable. Just my 2 cents worth though.

think this should work, but I'm obviously not getting
the filename syntax right.
