Hi,
we have a server running sun solaris 8 behind a firewall.
Therefore TSM Schedmode is configured for polling (polling intervall 1 h).
DSMCAD is started and configured to start the scheduler.
Something strange happens:
on the console is now a timer counting down every hour and updating every

Hi David,
try the option "Nwignorecompressbit yes" in the dsm.opt.
Depending on various parameters NetWare compresses files from time to time.
This will change the compress atrribute and TSM will backup this "changed"
file.
With nwignorecompressbit = yes the attribute is ignored while T
David,
when you backup a file from a novell file server all file information,
including "file_owner", will be saved.
At restore time all these information will be written to disk. If the

Hi Farren,
the main reason to backup data is to be prepared to restore them.

try to copy the command to .e.g. c:\batches and change the OBJECTS line in
your schedule to c:\batches\dominc.cmd.

Dear Vint,
as wanda pointed out you need TSM server and client to retrieve data from
an archive.
If you do a backup instead, you can create a backup set. To restore this
backup set you need only the TSM client.
Just thought this will help you.
