Just try the following option in your dsm.sys file:
virtualmountpoint /
virtualmountpoint /boot
virtualmountpoint /boot2
virtualmountpoint /root2

The Virtualmointpoint works for xfs filesystems. We do backups of those
filesystems a couple of months and yes..we can even restore files..:)
