It's the default stanza name for dsmc. If you dont have one defined hostname

Barcode label is not TSM label. You can use barcodes as source for TSM tape
labels (labelsource), to speed up inventory and for some other operations - but
you dont have to if you want. So you shouldn't have any problems with old tapes.

TSM is quite good in cross platfrom restores to be honest. Unix-to-unix works
like charm (ignore osx ahem). Try to do it in NetWorker for example. Solaris to
Linux to HP-UX to AIX or whatever - no way, not supported, you are screwed.
