Martin,
You can use either one -- format=drive or format=ultrium2c. However, if you
do not want the drive to write with compression, you will need to set
format=ultrium2.

Hello Fernando,
On the Windows platform, the block size used by the TSM server version
5.1.8 for regular back up on LTO is 32K. It's 256K on the UNIX platforms.
You can not change the block size used by the TSM server.

I just realized you have HP LTO drives not SDLT. However, they both have

Unfortunately, the label wizard currently doesn't work with SDLT drives.
This should be fixed in the next PTF 5.1.8 and 5.2.1.
You can use the LABEL LIBVOL command instead to label volumes with or
without barcodes. Try

Yes, you need the TSM server at least version 5.1.6.1. You also need the
IBM device driver for the drives and the library. I don't know the driver

Wolfgang,
Find a TSM device driver utility called lbtest.exe. Then run "lbtest -d
lb0.1.1.3" and choose manual test. Run option 6 to open, 8 to get element
count and 9 to get inventory. Are these options successful? If fails,
what's the error message?

I assume this is on Solaris.. To use the TSM device driver, you will have
to configure the library in lb.conf. The library device name would then be

One step furthur.. At least now you can see
"lb3.0.0.5".
Were you able to open the library through lbtest

firmware and the device driver.
