I was wondering...
If I have a backup copygroup that says VEREXIST=10 and all three other
variables "No Limit", what would a point-in-time restore, from say 6
months
ago, do with a file that has been backed up more than 10 times during
the
last 6 months? The file existed 6 months ago, but since I
Hi,
I'm thinking of implementing library sharing with my 3584 library over
my
SAN, so that two or more different TSM servers can share the same
library.
Plain and simple and standard procedure.
But somewhere in the back of my head I think I heard some issues about
where
to place the library

Just to add to the total confusion, you can (will?) experience the same
(similar?) problem in a 4.2.2.x server which I don't see properly clearified
on ADSM-L. Everyone's talking about this appearing when trying to upgrade to
5.1.x, but I have the problem in a plain 4.2.2 environment too: SYSTEM

Yes, we have this problem with all (six) of our 3581 autoloaders, and have
had it since we bought them 18 months ago.
The problem seems to be connected to certain LTO tapes, no matter if it's
IBM, Maxell or HP that made the tape. From a batch of 20 tapes I would say
that 2-4 tapes have this probl
Do you have some form of shell access to the TSM server?
Then you could use the ntutil/tapeutil command to manually
load the tape back into the drive.

I found a nice website explaining the different types of SCSI, it's at:
http://www.cablingdirectory.com/techinfo/scsiinfo/scsi.htm
Check if you can find a small symbol next to the connector on the SCSI card
indicating what type of SCSI it is. The LVD and HVD/Differential symbols
differs (see the

want the snapshot around anymore. But TSM won't let me delete the volume
since it's the "last" (in fact the ONLY) DBSNAPSHOT tape in the system.
Argh!
