This library has been in use for 5 years...maybe longer.
I've never had a problem scratching new volumes before but it just does not
like these tapes.

I'm trying to label newly purchased volumes as scratch to enter into the
library.
I've tried the LABEL LIBV command with no luck.
Thinking that the volumes were already pre-labeled by the manufacturer, I
did a regular CHECKIN LIBV command and still no luck.

I'm have an AIX 4.3.3 with TSM 3.7.2 .
The following process is showing in progress and cannot be ended. The
actual volume is showing to be in a mountable state for vault but has
already been removed from the library. We are unable to use drive 1 (rmt0)
b/c it's supposedly in use with this proc

At this point, we are unable to perform any

We are currently upgrading our AS400 platform from V4R4 to
V5R1.
Does anyone know what version the AS400 Tivoli API needs to
be in order to support this platform?

one good way is to check the error report. it will list when a tape drive
needed cleaning and when the cartridge cleaned it.
