I have seen this problem with gui before and had to "force" an authentication.
Like tdpsqlc q tsm -tsmpassword=
Then try to query for backups with the gui.

The target server is Windows 2012R2 with TSM & TDP 7.1.1
When I change the dsm.opt and launch the mmc, get this error:
Get-DpSqlBackup -Name * -AllTypes -COMPATibilityinfo -FROMSQLserver *
-QUERYNode DP -ConfigFile
That makes sense because I collocate all my VME backups by filespace.

target too if you want multiple threads.

Didn't I read that there were supposed to be changes in the 7.1 server to make
migration run at the filespace level? Which would make this a multi-thread
process - anybody with experience? I have a 6.3.5 customer with the same
issue, but don't have a 7.1 customer in production to verify.

The backup destination is disk. Trouble is all data is owned by the datacenter
node; consequently, migration has only one stream.
