This and make sure you restore your VE metadata to disk first, this only
works if you place this metadata in a seperate copypool.

Hi David,
You should use:

New backup objects will appear bound to the specified management class.
Older objects will still show up as bound to the older class, but the
system state as a whole will be managed to the
Are systemstate backups always bound to the default management class?
I added a "include * mgmclass" statement to my client options. As expected, on
the next backup the files were rebound to the new mgmclass. But all of the

TSM for VE will connect to any VCenter server you specify. When we did
our test, the VMWare team built a new VCenter instance and I built a new
datamover, connected it to the fresh VCenter and started restoring VMs.
A word of caution, however, if your data is on tape and you don't have any

Just went through the tsm for ve info center for v7.1.
Cannot find pdf downloads, and my screen reader won't show me the system
requirements doc.
Would someone please send me a url for downloadable docs for the latest tsm for
ve?
Thanks for any help.
Jim,
I do not have an answer to your question but I would be very interested in
hearing about your TSM/VE DR experience. We have not yet had the opportunity
to use VME in a DR test.

Thomas,
I haven't forgotten about this... I did find one place in our code where,
if a memory allocation fails, a message is logged only to a trace file (not
the dsmerror.log file). This is currently targeted for a future release.
I do not know if this covers all the various scenarios you encount
