I get the same sort of errors, unless I startup the Microsoft Windows command

Has anyone mastered vmcli syntax? I'm starting out with trying to do a query.
Here's my query and the results:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Tivoli\TDPVMware\VMwarePlugin\scripts>vmcli
-f inquire_detail -q vmfs
#TASK 6988 inquire_detail 20130611140938244
#RUN 6978 20130611140938244
#LANG

the f: that doesn't exist. So I'm assuming VSS is looking for something like
\\?\Volume{d483
