You're welcome.
To elaborate a little, the way they 'coordinate' the backup between the dag
nodes is by using the option 'MINIMUMBACKUPINTERVAL' with a single backup
schedule, databases are marked on the exchange level when a backup is
active so this prevents a schedule that gets picked up a few mi
Hi all,
I'm facing a strange behaviour on a 6.3.1 server (Linux platform).
When querying a node in a detailed format, I can see the Session Initiation
parameter value (ClientOrServer ou ServerOnly) and it changes as I change it
for the node with an update node command.
But, I never see any chan

Hi Andy,
thanks for letting us know. BTW, I see more and more redbooks becoming
available in both PDF and epub, do you know of any incentive to publish the TSM
docs in epub format as well? I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks for all the input on this.
On reflection, I think the problem as I originally stated it was slightly
different to the one I was actually trying to solve. Having thought about
it, my primary aim was to get the process described in this document

I might be one of the first here to implement this in a dag cluster at a
customer site today, I can report that it is easy to setup and it runs fine
with the 6.4 TSM BA client.
This feature "Back up DAG databases to a common node." is nice and works
fine with the testing I have done so far.

My download from Passport of "TSM_V6.4_CLIENTS_FOR_WIN.exe" is 280MB.
Sure, unzipped x32=701MB and x64=917MB so why not just use the
distribution file or build your own self-extracting. I used 7-zip and the
x64 client self-extracting file is 159MB.
