Hi Christian,
To be honest, I haven't ever tried to do as documentation is pretty clear about
this :
"You cannot export nodes of type NAS; export processing excludes these nodes."
(from admin reference, regarding export node command).

Hi,
I got a situations where a customer wants to export NDMP data out from TSM and
maybe later import it to the same or another TSM Server.
They are running today TSM 6.2.3.0 on Windows and the NDMP data are NetApp

My question is, has anyone successfully been ex
Good day,
Has anyone attempted to run TSM server 5.5 on AIX 7.1 ?
I see the supported OS list for 5.5 indicates 6.1, which is currently
installed, but I assume testing of 5.5 on 7.1 is outside the product scope.
Any experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks

Oh, I forgot about the lack of replicate. Not sure what would cause the
registry key replication to be grayed over, I've never seen that in a cluster
that didn't have other more serious issues.

There are a few steps you have to take to make sure this works:
1. install the TDP on both nodes of the cluster (in the same directory path on
each box).
2. Setup the dsm.opt file in a directory on a clustered disk.
3. run the TDP and initialize the password in the registry. (and make sure

We use VIO/NPIV based tape drives for a bunch of storage agents. Once
setup and working it works well. We ran into several bumps along the
road:
1) We had to double the vio server memory (1g to 2gb I think).
2) We had to patch VIO to a newer level.
3) There are limits to the number of tape dr

Run them as multiple TSM instances in a single AIX image. Works fine
under TSM 5.5, but it's even easier in TSM 6 than in previous versions,
and it's lower overhead, easier management, etc. as long as you get your
naming conventions right to keep them separate. Set it up with a Library

No, you've not, I completely missed that technote.

Have you put the dsm.opt file on the cluster disk?
And have you recognize the password registry key?

Thanks Guys
My AIX Guru said that WPARs are more trouble than they are worth and
there are complexities as each instance is on a different subnet, but
the WPARs must all be on the same subnet. Thus we have shelved that
idea for now.

That is saying virtual NPIV adapters are OK.
