Hi Wanda,
RC=4353 means basic VSS initialization errors.
Verify your VSS setup and configuration first by executing
the "DISKSHADOW Prereq Test":

This takes TSM out of the picture to make sure your

No problem, I can't get on to anyone, I've done that overlook thing too
many times myself.
However, an update on what the IBM support tech is telling me.
He says that when the select is run it locks the tables and if more than
one run at the same time one of them may get nothing back. Not sure

I made a mistake. I imagined the processes columns in the output from "select
* from syscat.columns" would sort into tables by default; they didn't.
When I tried "select * from processes" using Servergraph, I didn't notice that
the titles stretched way off my screen.
I think I'll just go back to
I'm not sure how you're pulling that "syscat columns" information.
However, Here's a sample from the select statement that David offered:

Hi Pam,
my point was more that the appendix tells you which file systems you need to
share/mirror.

Hello,
you might want to read the following document on our Wiki site.
It is titled "Electronic vaulting using deduplicated remote copy storage
pools"
it is available here :

Pam,
This is a link to a presentation I did about a year and a half ago
that explored snapshot recovery (and using NFS) I haven't had time to
get the mirroring component working. There are references at the end
which may provide you with a good starting point.

One method that I think someone on the list has got working is DB2 HADR -
maybe worth thinking about if you have/want the DB2 skills.

Hello Remco,
Thank you for your post. Unfortunately, HACMP is not an option as we cannot
share SAN disks from the East Coast to our DR site in New Mexico.
I will be very interested to read about how you get on with the non-HACMP
method and if we have a breakthrough, I will share it as well.

Hi Pam,
please have a look at appendix A of the TSM server administrator's Guide,
there are some good pointers on which data you need to share between the
active and the standby server in HACMP. I'm currently engineering a solution
not based on HACMP and have successfully switched over from one se
