Hello Wanda,
We have TSM Server 5.5.4.0 under AIX 5.3.
We are mirroring TSM database to disaster site by IBM Metro Mirror (PPRC) for
DS8100.
I have experienced some problems with online mirroring. It means we faced
problems with disaster site activation in case of sending any changes at Head
A db2 database backup consists of a full dump of the database and an archive of
the recovery log. On tape, these are written on one tape, on FILE, there is no
reason to cram it in one volume, so two volumes are created.

Regardless of FULL database backup or INCR database backup, there should be
at least two files.
One is for the database itself. The other is the recovery logs.

In prior TSM server versions, replicating the TSM DB and log using hardware
replication works fine as long as the DB and log are in a consistency group.
Any issues with hardware replication of the TSM 6.1 DB and log? With
appropriate changes to dsmserv.opt, will a DR TSM server be able to open th
One is the database backup, the other is a backup of the active log
files.
Incremental backups create two files, full backups create one file.

Sorry, I do not have details about that problem any longer. I experienced it
some weeks ago and gave up.
After changing the default queries and my customized one's according to the tsm
blog they work again :-)
Thanks a lot

So obvious you've already thought of it, no doubt:
oracle:
shutdown immed
tsm:
dsmc inc
Of course, your users may not like this method...

That error is explained in the TSM 6.1 Technical Guide redbook.
Gugu,
Running the installation in console mode rather than wizard mode will
take care of the stack trace message you are getting below.
TDP-Oracle64.ppc64.bin -i console will work

The obvious forensics to look over are the dsmerror.log and Windows
Event Log, where the latter in particular should have some info. The

We are testing TSM 6.1.2.1 under AIX 5.3-09-02.
I have found that "BACKUP DATABASE DEVCLASS=DBB TYPE='Incremental'
VOLUMENAMES=' db151209.dbv'" produces 2 files in directory:
-rw---1 tsm tsm 419537593 Dec 15 13:09 db151209.dbv
-rw---1 tsm tsm 453116604 Dec 15
Try launching the installer in console mode - if I recall, with '-i
console'. You'll get text prompts rather than the GUI.
