We have not had an issue with the clients set to prompted and issuing a define
clientaction NODE action=i on the TSM server.
Sometimes there is a few minutes between the command and the start of the job.

Servergraph shows you the occupancy by node, for on-site and offsite
pools.
If you measure these two things right after a backup stgpool
completes, they ought to match.
(if you let a backup run, then they won't, of course.)
You don't need Servergraph to do this, just a query occupancy with

Hmmm. Bet you haven't seen the end of this yet.
I mean, I could always get the schedule to start up immediately
if I bypassed dsmcad and ran "dsmc sched" on the client.

Richard,
I hadn't restarted dsmcad. Once I did, and reset the starttime to

I have often seen the same problem.

Thank you for the suggestions. We corrected the Managedservices

Still no activity. Here is the client's dsm.sys file after the

Before you do anything, review how you set up your DB backups. If
they were through DRM, you should be employing DRM regimens to expire
them, rather than interfere with Delete Volhistory. And your DB

Hello,
We setup TSM 5.5.1 a few monts ago, but I fear that I have made an error in the
configuration... hopefully somebody can let me know that there is an easy fix!
In the TSM maintenance plan script, I selected a TAPE device class. Now when I

Greetings,
Have you checked to verify that the TSM server and the TSM client have exactly
the same time? Is it possible that the TSM server has the correct time, and
the TSM client's time was set incorrectly, and is exactly 12 hours off? Or it
has the correct apparent time, but is set to the
Richard Sims pointed out the discrepancy between midnight and noon in your
apparent scheduled start times, which is certainly worrying.
I also notice that your scheduler is not starting up until almost 25 minutes
after the scheduled start time. Why is that?

No worries.
If TSM had already put data on the tape, you would have gotten a different
message, TSM would not have called it a scratch tape.
And TSM will not LET you update the tape to Scratch if there is any valid
data on it.
Just do:

You don't say if your client MANAGEDServices option is properly set

I would like to run a client schedule defined on the server at an
