Hi List,
I read in the TSM 5.4 admin guide that TSM was now able to generate
offsite copies of NDMP backups and to handle them thru DRM.
I just implemented some NDMP test setup, but am absolutely unable to get
an offsite copy generated using the "move data" method described in the
guide.

Correct Del. I did not see that, only a popup for the .net framework. I'll get
those on and hopefully all will be well.
Thanks

I am guessing that you are running with SQL Server 2000?
There are some prerequisites when using Data Protection for SQL 5.5 with
SQL Server 2000.
The book lists these requirements here:

Thomas,
really looks quite similar to the DBLOG666 error we experienced a few
days ago.
In both cases the logfile seems (at least partially) corrupted.
IBM services suggested a point in time restore of the DB. This leads
to data loss for the time between the last dbbackup and the
powerfailure.

Active Data Pools? Or maybe IMAGE backups? IMAGE backup would probably be the

Another good reason for 'Full' backups is to facilitate quick restores. I do
this for systems prior to Websphere updates and for other 'fragile' systems.
Collocation is nice, but having the entire current system on disk, or on a
single tape, is better.

The Windows admin replaced the hardware and wanted to make sure that
everything got backed up.
The node is on a schedule with 100 other nodes.
Thanks to Richard Sims who had several solutions. I used the rename

option on the server. When I can, I like to control things from the
server.

Yes, but then you need to specify the OBJECTS='' to tell the client WHAT to
SELectively backup. Only Incremental backups work with
the DOMAIN, plus SEL doesn't do the SYSTEMobject/state/services.

Hello All,
Thanks for your help!!
One of my Windows server admins wants to schedule an "always backup" so
the system will backup everything but we could not find a syntax diagram
that included the option from the command line. Does anyone know where I

For manuals of all kinds in various languages, the best approach is
to go into the IBM Publications Center (http://
www.elink.ibmlink.ibm.com/publications/servlet/pbi.wss) and search on
the manual title. There you can find it in French, German, Chinese,
