You only need to install the LVSA if you intend to use online image backup
or open file support, AND you want to use the LVSA as the snapshot
provider.
If you do not intend to use online image backup or open file support, you
do not need to install the LVSA.

Trying to figure out OFS with the new 5.5. client. With previous releases you
had to install the OFS support which installed the
LVSA agent. Then the FILELEVELTYPE=SNAPSHOT|DYMANIC was used to determine if
you did OFS for locked files. That option isn't
available in 5.5. Now there's the SNAPSHOTP

Kevin,
I've created a script to append 'date' output to the log file every 30
minutes to see how long it takes sessions to reconnect to the TSM

occurred.

You should not be running Exchange backups and Exchange defragmentation
at the same time.
You should run your last incremental or differential backup
(if you are using them) just before running a defrag, run the defrag,
wait for the defrag to complete, and then run a new Exchange full backup.

We've been noticing poor performance from our Exchange TDP backups.
1) The TDP Client runs 4 Streams (One per E-Mail Storage Group)
utilizing a dedicated Gige backup NIC.

There is no disclosed method for getting a timestamp onto the records
of client-initiated backups. You might instead consider using a
scheduled backup in conjunction with the PRESchedulecmd and
POSTSchedulecmd options, where the former can do setup (including any
timing waits), and the l
Hello,
I have a question regarding verbosity levels of the backup log file.
For our Windows clients, we use the default action of Incremental for
our backup schedules, and so everything gets logged to the dsmsched.log
file. There is a date / timestamp on each line.
For our Unix clients, we use
Does anyone know of a way to see if the OFS support was installed with the TSM
client? I have a client that wants to inventory their
TSM nodes to see which have the OFS/LVSA support installed and which don't.
Looking for a quick and dirty way just to see if it's
been installed.

Try changing

to
objects="/vmfs/volumes/vmserv3:/storage1/*"
(A '/' before 'storage').
Good luck,
