Anyone know of documentation on how to setup TSM backups for a Legato
cluster?

Both clients systems use NTFS.

I've done reasonably comprehensive testing of this myself over the years. One
thing I noticed lately is the effect of changing movebatchsize from the default
500 to the maximum 1000. Almost doubled the performance I saw during backup
stg operations (I use backup stg so I can repeat the test ov
Henrik,
That's very interesting, and it looks like you're getting pretty good
throughput overall. I wonder though, about tape 360024 on the Windows
machine... it got much better throughput than any of the others on either
machine. Do you think that was because of better compression on that

Hi, St
Hello everyone,
I am receiving the following error messages for some of our NDMP backups.
It looks like this is occurring on filesystems that have not had any data
change since the last differential backup. (Fulls run ok.) The TSM server
is 5.2.7.1 on AIX 5.3. Our NAS is a Celerra NS704G at 5.5.
Hello,
A late answer about LTO3 performance, but for the records. Origal post is below.
I used 'audit vol volume_name skippartial=y fix=n' and 'move data volume_name
reconstr=no'.
Since the tape drives are not connected to a switch I used the information and
timing from actlog when the tape is
Windows is not in the picture. These are going to be RH Linux systems.
We will probably perform EXPORT TO SERVER to move the clients, one by one,
since we are probably going to move to new media types (3592 vs 3590) , as
well.

Richard,
I bet Eric meant to say "cross-platform", which may or may not apply to
restoring WinNT to Win2k3 (I havent tried, but there could be a problem,
especially if the filesystems are going from fat32 to ntfs or something
like that).

Hi Thomas!
Cross-client restore is not supported. That's probably why these
messages are not to be found in the messages manual.
Sure it is, Eric: a now-common feature in the product.
