Although I have an open issue with TSM and AIX support on poor performance I
was wondering if anyone might want to chime in on this subject. This are
taking way too long on a 4 processor system that took 1/3 the time on my 2
processor box. Db backups are 5+ hours on a 120gb db that is 35% used.

Gerald,
That's a cool script... I've never quite gotten that interface working in
batch. The only thing I would worry about is what if TSM tries to open
the library while the script has it open? Will it go offline? I guess
having it in a script would be less exposure than an interactive run (o
The L700 does have an optional "personality" module which allows the
library to be connected to the network. You can then open a browser to this
address and see the whole library, slots, drives, i/o ports, errors.
We have it on all our L700 libraries.
Also, I've created a Perl script which uses t

Thanks for the tip Len.
I don't use show commands in scripts, because A) we're warned that they are
unsupported and subject to change without notice, and B) they're a pain to
parse. But that does indeed show the library status. As for the ANR8440
msg, that would only happen during TSM startup, wo
Hello Robin,
There is an undocumented command show library that has the online status.
See the archives for more info on undocumented commands.
Here is the partial output from the show library command and the query path
command.
Autolib is an stk 9710 which was not connected. But at least wi
You can not manage existing objects with configuration management. You must
delete STANDART policy domain from subscribers or create another name from
manager server. Configuration manager distribute objects and changes to
subscribers. Also you can not change managed objects from subscribers.

The path definition is the only TSM reference I could find that has a
library status: ONLINE=YES or NO. Example:
ANS8000I Server command: 'q path'
Source Name: TSM_WAYNE_LM
Source Type: SERVER
Destination Name: WATL26
Destination Type: LIBRARY
On-Line: Yes
I'm not sure
All,
I want to set up TSM configuration manager. I have several AIX 5.1
TSM servers 5.3.2.
I have defined a profile on one server, and defined a profile
association to this configuration profile for domains, using our
"STANDARD" domain as a test to propagate additions and changes to
subscribers
Thanks Del, much appreciated.
