Hi Ian,
Regarding the CPF, is it a must to disable the functions? What's the
different of having it disable or enable? Where can I get the script to
disable the CPF?
Do I need to do the rollback on the library clients too?
Thanks,

Richard (et.al.)- I've been on the trail to find this utility for over a
year now. The Prob. Determination Guide talks about its use as does the
PowerPoint presentations from several webinars on Journaling but the
utilities for TSM5.3 don't seem to be available (they don't come on any of

We've done that for 3 nights in a rowsame error.

Keep in mind that the error code you are getting is found in the script
called startup on /lotus/notes/latest/ibmpow. About a third of the way
down the file you will find this section:

Look in the TSM 5.3 Problem Determination Guide for location and use
of the utility for 5.3.
In TSM 5.2, at least, it was an unsupported utility...
The "TSM Windows Client Advanced Functions" Lunch & Learn cites that
version of the utilities being downloadable from
ftp://service.boulder
Where can the TSM Journal Database Viewing Utility for TSM 5.3 Win2000 /
2003 nodes be found?

Journaling will cut down the time it takes your remote client to scan
its filesystem, but it won't reduce the amount of data you have to send
over that leased line - which is really causing your problem?
Sounds like subfile backup might be more useful to you than journaling.

Hi,
Since you don't state which operating system you are using I will assume it's
Windows. For that you can use two utilites, one from SysInternals, called
FileMon and which freeware. Here is a snip of product information from their

I have a question regarding Journaling:
I understand that journaling runs as a service, monitors file activity
and records this activity in a file for the BA Client to reference
instead of running a full disk scan at the point of backup.
I have a file server at a remote location connected via a
Rainer,
I found out, the hard way, that only the copies defined in VERE are
retrievable. The thirty extra copies that showed up in a SQL search
weren't there in the gui or the cli for the client.
