Hi Riaan,
TSM does treat the cluster resources correctly - making it cluster aware, as
far as my requirements go.
Although you load the TSA with the /cluster=off it is cluster aware and will
treat
the disks as logical units and treat fail-over to the other nodes in the
cluster

Hi TSMers.
I just thought I'd run this by everyone for verification and

I've searched the archive thoroughly, and from what I can see, this
topic hasn't been discussed very much as of yet.

Can anyone tell me what TSM uses as the size of file as reported by

We have a case where a file is backed up using a dynamic mgmt class. This
file changes during backup.

I feel a little sheepish - The log output I save in a file does not have

I have a strange problem that I just noticed today - I have not seen it
happen before. TSM 5.2.1.1 on AIX 5.1ML4. I noticed that by tape to
tape backup was backing up more data than usual. My script issued the

If you have enough scratch tapes, you could consider colocation by
filespace, then divide the filespaces roughly by size into 8 groups (or
however many tape drives you want to assign) and start 8 restores. They
would be guaranteed to be on separate tapes becuase of the collocation.

We were told that the best way to do this at least with Tivoli Data
Protection for SAP R/3 was to have each thread go to a different storage
pool that way no thread will ask for a tape that another thread is using.
We thought that was silly and pushed back. Hopefully it will be fixed.

I'm probably just missing the obvious, but why not just collocate by
filespace?
Then you can do all the restore scripting you want with no worries.

I received no responses from my previous post'Need your

Tomas,
If this is what you meant: There is a product called "DiskXtender2000" (DXUL
for Unix) which is a HSM product (now part of EMC) and this will tie in with
TSM (as the back end or receiver of the data).
Hope this helps,

There was a product developed by OTG, called DISKXTENDER, that provides a
Windows HSM component that works with a TSM server.
Then OTG was bought out by Legato.
Then Legato was bought out by EMC.

Hello all!
I am trying to find out a way to query any server nodes that have been

is on the mainframe, although I don't think that will make a difference.
Does anyone know if this information is possible to obtain? Thanks!
