It's the last DBB on this devclass.
TSM won't delete those as well.

Hi,
I am having some weird problems with TSM, RMAN and TDP for Oracle.
Everything is on Windows 2000, above the 5.2 level, server and clients (2
Oracle servers running on 2 MSCS clusters) are at 5.2.2. We are using a

Based on my experience, it would appear you can only check the firmware of

appears to be different. I am not sure hardware wise what to look for.

Thank you for the information.
I have gone through almost everything
you have listed, except for the firmware issue. I did check to see if it
was current, but not the issue of multi/single path. Can you tell me how
to check this ?

Your environment is very similar to what I recently configured, but I

I have spent hours and hours trying to get TSM server 5.2.2.0 on AIX 5.1
to define the PATH to the above tape library.
Every time I click on defining the PATH (/dev/smc0) to this library, TSM
goes off and spins for a while, eventually coming back with some kind of
error about being unable to commu
Personally, if you are really going to keep something forever...
to reduce the buildup in your TSM data base tracking all that stuff...
I'd back them up, export the node to tapes (to keep forever)
then let the data expire naturally...

I'm having an issue where we've installed Open File Support on our clients.
The error message I receive is:
The snapshot cache location cannot be located on the same volume that is
being backed up.
In this particular case, this system is RAID 5 controlled with 3 partitions.
They are C, D, & E
You can certainly do it - in the copy pool for the management class domino data
is going to set the following:
verexist = nolimit
verdeleted = nolimit
retextra = nolimit
retonly = nolimit
However, don't forget these other two resultant settings:
size of library = not big enough
$$$ for new tapes
Hi All,
Is it possible to archive Domino database and mail forever using the TDP
module?
Thanks in advance.

This seems to be your last DB backup as far as TSM is concerned so it
won't allow you to delete it. How are you taking your DB backups to disk?
It doesn't seems to be recognized as a DB backup by TSM...

Hello,
We did quite some changes to our TSM setup, but I'm left with a database
backup tape that I can't succeed in recovering. As we are now taking
backups of the database to disk, we don't need this tape anymore.
I can't find a way to delete the last tape. Is there a good soul that
can help me?
Installing TSM 5.2.2 server on a new AIX system (7028-6C4) - 4GB RAM.
Is there any real advantage/reason to installing the 64-bit version of the
TSM server ?
Opinions ? Thoughts ?
Didn't think to look in there. doh!!!

Ralph,
There are options to create new database files as needed, but what you need
to do right now is extend your database into the unused area that is already
created.
The command is
extend db
In your case, I would extend it to the 2964 and look into creating some more
database files manually

Hi Ralph!
Checkout the extend db command. In your case you should issue:
extend db 2964

Hi
If you are sure the data on those volumes has no value anymore, you can
delete them with :
Delete volume discard=yes
This will remove any reference from the files originally written on
those volumes from TSM DB. Note that existing copies from the files in
the copy storage pools will also

You didn't specify what those tapes are...whether foreign or
in a stgpool. If in a stgpool, they will be implicitly reused
when their contents expire or
Hi again
Thanks for your help. I tried the two scripts, after little manupilation.
They simply do the same than we did: Calculating the transferrate out of
the time and the amount of the transmitted bytes.
The srcipts can be found at the server-directory in the file scripts.smp
My output:

Miles,
I think you need to give a little more info as the two scripts sound like
local scripts to yourselves. You will need to give the content of your

Hi
Is there anyone using LTO2 drives with LTO1 tapes?
How does the transferrate changes?
What i know is:
LTO2 drives with LTO2 tapes provides 30MB/s maximum and 15MB/s minimum.
LTO1 drives with LTO1 tapes provides 15MB/s maximum and 8MB/s minimum.
but how does
LTO2 drives with LTO1 tapes work??
