I am running TSM 4.2.1.7 on AIX 4.3.3 on a dual processor B80 backing up
around 112 nodes with 5.2TB capacity 2.3TB used, storing 18.6 million
objects (3.2TB) in the primary and copy storage pools. The TSM database is
8.7GB running around 80% util
I have Novell 4.11 servers we are backing up nicely, but need to be able to
do a cross system restore
to a Novell 6 server, of just the data. The Novell 4.11 are IPX only, and
Novell6 is TCP/IP only.
Our servers are on different NDS trees, but each can work nicely with the
same TSM 4.2.3.1 server
Still waiting to hear from the support center. Meanwhile I found an
entry in the aix backup client level 5.1.5.11 readme that sounds like a
match. We're going to try that on one of our machines.

This was a new entry for our AIX guys. It revealed the probable cause. All
running processes have TZ=NFT-1DFT,M3.5.0,M10.4.0 in their environment
variables, except for DSMSERV. So I guess that's why it's running with the
system time -1 hour.

(other than it deleting the library definition during the install).

Andy is right, the MS installer is picky and wants to see all the files
it expects so don't delete them. However, you can set unwanted files to size
zero and reduce the install image size that way. We also edit the setup.ini
