for the domain that node is assigned to, then on that node add an include
statement appropriately pointing to that managementclass..
e.g.

Yes, you are partial right. The system32 dir is part of the "system files"
folder (see your TSM client, System Object). From memory, some ini file is
responsable for this and other default exclude's.

versions, a reboot of ITSM (I think that's the new name) allows mounts to
begin immediately. A long quiet period on the machine seems to do the

Check your dsm.opt file. You probably have most stuff excluded. What you're probably
seeing backed up is directory structures (without the actual files). Take a look.

backup and restore takes up far more resources than your typical MS Exchange
API backup. Let's say your Infostore on your 5.5 machine is 30gb in size.

suggestion. LTO can be used as a standalone drive, TSM can use single
drive or small autoloader with single drive. So it is NOT required but
recommended.

One options is to use SQL BackTrack for Oracle instead of using TDP.
BackTrack does not use RMAN, and it's got it's own user
interface(DOS-based though).
Using BackTrack is good for people that doesn't want to learn RMAN/EBU,

I recently saw several postings regarding TSM performance for UNLOADDB and
LOADDB.
Last weekend I did it and here are the results.
Environment: OS/390 V2.8; IBM 9672-RC4; STK 9840 tape
UNLOADDB:
Command: UNLOADDB DEVCLASS=RTAPE SCRATCH=YES CONSISTENT=YES
TSM server V4.1.2
The key is the device config file. The devclass is defined there with the
directory path. Volume name is only the file name part.
Example: to restore DB from the file c:\tsmfiles\dev_file\12345678.DBB you
need following
dsmserv restore db dev=file vol=12345678.DBB
and devclass named FILE with dire
JFS with no large-file enabled can have file up to 2 GB. However the
default file limit (even for root) is 1 GB. So this one is hit first. And
if the file is restored to same filesystem (assume no bare-metal) it has
to be already large-file enabled.
