George,
I was using the 4.2.1.0 NW client and the SMDR/TSA that came with SP3 for NW
5.1. After going to 4.2.1.24 client and TSA5up7, a lot of my TSM error
messages and performance problems went away. I am too scared of Beta files,
but I have about 40 NW 5.1 servers running it and no burps from t
I had a similar issue last week. I needed to restore a file but the server
had abended on the TSM Client software (it was a NW server). What I did was
rename the NODENAME on another server, unloaded and loaded the TSM Client
and was able to restore to this other server but using the same node (mak
You might be able to get away with it if you remember/know how SGIs
do their own kind of "bare metal" restore.
Check the "Backup" man page (capital "B", yes). You do need a CD
or network server to get the miniroot installation tools loaded. When
you have accomplished this, you'll eventually get
Where can I find documentation on the lbtest utility?
I'd run a TSM audit library at the end, just to make sure I got all the
tapes back in.

Are you asking how to increase the width so that
the file space name doesn't wrap to multiple
lines?
While this example doesn't wrap, it does illustrate
a method you can use to adjust the output column
widths.
STANDARD WIDTH:
select filespace_name, node_name, capacity from filespaces

Hi TSM-ers,
I have set SELFTUNEBUFFPOOLSIZE to YES and the
BUFPoolsize in DSMSERV.OPT to 131072.
When EXPIRE INVENTURY has finished I get message
ANR0386I The BUFPoolsize has been changed to 131072
Is this pure coincidence or does this message tell me that
SELFTUNEBUFFPOOLSIZE doesn't work?
I'
Hi
we too have a TSM Server connected to two networks (16Mb TR and 155Mb ATM).
We have two entries in our DNS server for this machine (NSM and
NSM_BACKBONE)
that correspond to the two network addresses.
In our client DSM.OPT I reference the 155Mb ATM entry as

Hi
This will probably seem like an obvius question.
I have the following config.

TSM Client 1* 100Mb Card server09
1* 1000Mb Card server09_tsm
In my dsm.opt file on the client I hav
HiThe Qlogic adapter is not and IBM RS/6000 oem, it's a X-series(PC) oem.The 6227 is a LP7000, and the 6228 is a LP9000. The LP8000 is not oem:ed by IBM yet. I know this because I have tried implementing the LP8000 on a P-Series 610. When running CFGMGR, AIX asks for a driver called devices.pci.fc.
We have been doing some significant testing of the TDP for SAP in a Solaris

of 3 has provided backup speeds of 200GB per hour (55MB/sec). Very
successful.
The rub comes during the restore. What we have been able to dete
