Well, at 50%, it's really a moot point ... 50% empty and 50% full are the same thing. We usually set our daily reclaims to 67%, and if we do adhoc reclaims we start at a higher percentage... maybe 90%, to get the emptiest tapes freed up first. Also, remember, TSM will use available "FILLING" tap

No, actually you have that reversed. The reclaim percentage is percentage "empty", so if you want to guarantee 2 tapes to fit on one scratch, make the reclaim percentage 51% or greater. If you want 3 to 1, make it 67%; 4 to 1, 76%, etc. Robin Sharpe Berlex Laboratories "P

Just enable collocation on stgpool .i.e update stgpool poolname collocation=yes pl see help . Just wait for some time it gets done automatically. Then when re claim starts it will free non collocated tapes to respective tapes assigned for collocation ie tapes for each node seperately. BALANAND PI
