we have installed a NDS 8 on a WIN2000 Machine. Does anybody has experience
in backing up such a system (in a consistant manner).

server (V3.7.4) reports the event as having failed but investigation of
the client's dsmsched.log has shown that the backup worked. In our case I

TSM won't backup Japanese filenames unless you run the client on a Japanese NT server.
Adding the Japanese codepage to a UK build won't work.

No, I had similar results with a DLT2/20. It appears to me that the
library automatically ejects the tape after any operation, and TSM
doesn't seem to like that. I haven't been able to find a setting on the

backup of the NOTES_TPOOL to Offsite_pool. After the backup finished I saw

ADSM indicates it is a TCP/IP issue.
Make sure resource utilization is set on the client.

I think that you don' t have to use SMIT to define the medium changer or the
drive.
You just have to install the device driver and then define the medium
changer and the drive
within TSM (define library and define drive )
