Hi,
I am using UDB EEE V6 on SP2 and TSM for backing the UDB database on 3590 E
model drives. UDB backup is invoked using DB2 utilities which transfer the
data to Tivoli STorage manager to write to tape. The UDB backup is very
slow compare to normal file backup. It seem to indicate that the inter

Good day all - been gone for a while but now I'm back.
I have a client that is thinking of moving over to the new LTO tape drives, for
a number of good reasons. I was wondering if there is anyone out there currently
employing or benchmarking these drives, and what the results have been so far. I

I'd suggest that you install 3.7.4 on the new box, move the database over, then do an
upgrade.
The easiest way to move the database is to arrange so the DB is on external disk, then
move the disk to the new machine, with dsm.dsk and
Tim's got the right idea. Since it's AIX on both platforms, a db restore
will do the trick. No need to do the export / import. You only need to do
that if you are changing platform OS's.

Thanks for posting this, Frank. We have seen this too, but I hadn't done
