I had this problem on a W2K Professional system running V4.1.1.0 whether the
RSM Service was running or stopped, enabled or disabled. The problem went
away when I upgraded to V4.1.2.0 and set the RSM Service to Manual startup.

One thing they said to check is to make sure your environment is set as
follows:
# Setting environmetal variables for Client Tivoli
export DSMI_DIR=/usr/lpp/adsm/api/bin
export DSMI_CONFIG=/usr/lpp/tivoli/tsm/client/domino/bin/dsm.opt
export DSMI_LOG=/usr/lpp/tivoli/tsm/client/domino/bin/dsierr

There seems to be a significant requirement for this sort of function.
The way to let the right people know what you need is to phase what you need as a
requirement and post it on the ADSM-R list, which is a companion to this one.

I would be interested to hear how this works out. I had a problem with the
lb driver when trying to define a SCSI library - this was TSM 3.7.3 on
Solaris 7.
I started with the operating system in 64-bit mode, and even though I
reinstalled in 32-bit mode, it still didn't work until I went to TSM
Has anyone had to deal with a rollout to desktops and the security issues?
We're about to TSM backups to a few hundred users, and inevitably we will be
faced with our Security group. The clients will be mixed 95, 98, NT Workstation,

Thank you for the response. I am hoping to get TDP for Domino going for

Thanks again

Not sure if we ran into this before or not (as I did no initially setup our

Hi all
Has anyone on this list successfully implemented TDP for Lotus Domino on
OS/390? I'm trying to get V1.1.0 of this product to work with Tivoli
Storage manager V4.1 and running into problems when TDP tries to connect
to Domino.

Has anyone tried a re-directed restore from a W2K server to another W2K

I am using 4.1.16 and trying to restore to a server with a different

Does anyone have experience with backing up MVS UNIX as a client running in
the same server as OS390. This is not a separate client server but part of
the OS390 shell.
Thank you in advance.
I have successfully connected to a TSM 3.7 server via JDBC.
Unfortunately its a bit kludgy. JDBC does not seem to be
compatible with the TSM ODBC driver. (and I've tried everything
from the old ADSM ODBC drivers up to the newest TSM).
But MS Access gets to the TSM db without any trouble, so I mad
I have a powderhorn library but I believe the TSM setup is the same. Before

Hello,
I was looking in my accounting records on the TSM server, and it said that a session
started on 12/22/00 at 03:57:07 (field # 4+5), and that the session duration was
30032 seconds (field # 21), which would tell me that the session ended about 12/22/00

Hi everybody
1) I would like to know if there is a possibility to
know what's written on the LCD screen of our QUALSTAR
library. Sometimes there are important info like
"Change the AIR filter" ...
It's a SCSI library.
2) If we shut down the QUALSTAR library, the TSM
doesn't feal it at all ! You

Marco,
I've not been able to find a Performance Tuning guide. However the Redbook:
"Getting Started with Tivoli Storage Manager: Implementation Guide , SG24-5416-01"
does have a paragraph titled "Performance considerations". You can find it at

Radha,
domdsmc selective and domdsmc incremental will
only back up Domino "databases and templates".
It will not back up transaction logs.
The domdsmc archivelogs command is used to
back up the transaction logs.
TDP for Domino works closely with the Domino Server

Hi.
can anyone direct me to a performance runing guide for the TSM Server ( I am
running 4.1.2, but i guess 3.7 will be fine),
I have seen the adsm 3.1 tuning guide, and wanted to know if there is more info
about this issue.
Thanks.
Marco.
