Gentle greetings,
We recently discovered that in the newer releases of the client code, when
using the Configuration Wizard in the Client GUI to set up a system for
automatic backups, a batch file which runs the Sched95 executable with the
appropriate options is installed the Startup folder.
Whe
Boy is that lame! It looks like the first file system used for an archive
is the file system used from then on. So if the client doesn't know from
which file system the first archive was done, they are going to have a tough
time guessing where to find it.

Hi All,
I'm attempting an install of TDP for Oracle 2.1.0 on Solaris 2.6 and Oracle 8.0.5
The install doc tells me that where Oracle is below 8.1.5 there should be a libobk.a
that needs to be linked with Oracle via a make command
At 8.1.5 there is a libobk.so that needs to be symbolically linke

Neil,
What you want to do is called cloning. You can get instructions on how to do this at
http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/rs6k/techbrowse/. Once there click on your OS
level, type the word clone in filter
selected categories and click on the filter button. For example for AIX 4.2 and 4.
Here is everything you want : see attachment ,today restored S7A to F-40
known as clonning the system :

Neil,
Check out the AIX 4.3.3 installation guide. Chapter 5 is Installing BOS from a
System Backup.
We've used the mksysb method to change hardware platforms (microchannel 39H to
pci F50) for our control workstation and it worked great. We got the entire
rootvg back, and did not have to pick a
Addendum to previous:
1. Make sure that the AIX CD you use is at the same level as system you do mksysb on.
2. If you have appiled any PTF's or Maint releases on current system, then as soon as
new system is up check apply of these to new system as you willl have some new code on
new system
I got hit by this on Memorial Day weekend. Down five days and still
finding hidden problems.
We used "commit=yes" to get the restore to complete to a usable
point. However, that was the full dump db; all the incrementals were
lost. My advice is to get someone from level 2 to work you thru this.
I think the best solution for this is to do:
1. Make a mksysb tape on original server
2. On new server, boot off AIX CD and select (I forget exact menu nomenclature) not
regular mksysb restore but Recover from etc, etc. (Check AIX Install manual or if you
have experience wander through menu

Hi All ---
After looking through the archives, it appears that more than a year ago some perl

This file should contain library name & IP address.
Tape library name in /etc/ibmatl.conf must match library definition in TSM.

Steve,
All in all, it's pretty straight forward. However, Netware boxes seem to
specialize in a kind of odd, "they are all doing fine except for a few..."
type behaviour. It seems that even with uniformity across all your Novell
boxes there will be one or two that behave a bit oddly. Don't be afr
You'll have to wait for the v4.1.2 client (coming soon) to have the option
of specifying system objects as part of the domain statement for inclusion
in incremental processing. In v3.7.2 and v4.1.1 you can schedule a
command file which includes the backup commands to process the system
objects.
James, Gyula, et. al,
First of all, thanks for all the info on the various facets of DB2 and ADSM.

To see information you need to be as specific as at least the file system...
So /sdvscratch2 is a file system (I would bet)

Seth,
I recommend installing 1.1.2 of TDP for Microsoft SQL.
You can find it here:

Under directory:
