Please note I was backing up Cellera NAS volumes and encountering
authorisation problems against UID. The solution was to upgrade to TSM 4.1
client, there were various extra Microsft components to install prior to TSM
agent installing successfully. Files backed up & restored successully now.

Please ignore my previous 'out of office' email. I entered the wrong email

I truly apologize for sending the first email, and then this 'correction'

I have a client that is using server v3.7.3 and client v3.7.1
Having completed a backup and having a file deleted we need to restore it.
Using the very same client that it was backed up with and to the exact same
location (still having the same OS) we get format unknown.
Any ideas on how to rest
Geoff,
The one logical file per physical device is news to me.
Our DB is 21.5 GB + space for future expandion. It consists entirely of 1000 MB
volumes. Our log consists entirely of 200 MB volumes. We have two SCSI
controllers hosting the DB and log drives. One controller hosts four disks t

We are currently using single length double density tapes and
would like to move to using extended length double density tapes.
We are running ADSM 3.1.2.40 on AIX.
How can this be accomplished and is there any online documentation
discussing the procedures?
Thanks, Irene

Hello everyone,
We are running ADSM server 3.1.2.50 under MVS OS/390 2.7
I have a user with high expectations pertaining to ADSM backup procedures

Thanks for replying Dwight.. Here's a theoretical scenario.
Iv'e just taken delivery of a new RS/6000.
I have just installed an application under filesystems /app1 /app2

We also had a memory problem with ADSM client Version 3.1.0.8 on a

It was usually producing a lot of errors and died frequently
with a core dump and the message 'ANS1030E System ran out of memory.
Process ended.'

Our site is going to be installing TSM 3.7 for AIX. We are currently ADSM

On reading the TSM manuals, there is a function to backup and restore
logical volumes via TSM 3.7 clients.
Currently to backup a filesystem we use e.g inc /first/export and are able
to use point-in-time

Hello
Does anyone knows if local tape support will be supported for Netware client
for restoring backusets ?
Creating backupsets on zip , jaz or cdrom , restoring them on a netware server

Next month we have to restore 30Gb , 3M files with t
