Am I missing something here? I've been working my way through the
announcement letter (200-245) on 4.1 where "Tivoli introduces Value-Based
Pricing model. . ." and I can't find any *detail* on the new pricing.
There's no list of points per feature or per server, and nothing to indicate

Now from what I remember (and I haven't double checked the 3.7 docs) is that
if you don't own a file, you CAN NOT back it up because backups
(incremental/selective) actually causes data to go away (rolling off
inactive versions).
I'm surprised that 3.2 let you... when I tested things, you could
At the beginning of this year my company upgraded to TSM 3.7. Prior to that
we where runing ADSM 1.0 for OS/2. The client software on our NT Servers
was TSM 3.0. Worked just fine.

Hello,
I am currently running ADSM 3.1 server on os/390 system. I have a 9 gig

I'd first do a 'dsmc Query Access' from the owner of the files to see if
the SET Access is still in effect. This will give you more info if you
have to proceed, then, to contact Support.

Try to re-start ADSM server. It may fix your problem.

I have a client running the TSM 3.7.1 client on AIX. They are trying to backup some
files that they do not own but do have access to. The client documentation indicates
that you can backup files you don't own if you have been given access. They were

I concur, it seems to be hosed.
I downloaded via HTTP. Just trying to run it, I get the same error as first
reported (CLIDOS).
When I tried to repair it with ZIPMAGIC, it has length errors with most of
the contents. So I just delete it.

Now for the classic question: Did you FTP it in Binary form?
(That's the standard problem in situations like these. And
no one reporting the problem has yet specified how they
performed the download.)

Hm, not for me... WinZip complains about 524 bytes missing. The filesize is
similar to the one on the FTP server: 36,906,918 bytes.

Gavin,
You could use the "SHOW VERSION nodename filespace"

management class that they are assigned to.
(Replace "nodename" with the correct TSM NODENAME
