Today's the peak of a seasonal meteor shower. I'm pretty excited, gonna be

If you mean, why is it spelled like that? It's because the text was sent to
the voice synthesizer for the 5PM Unix room ephemeris announcement. Tweaked
spellings could improve pronunciation.

Yes, exactly. Thinking about this on the drive home, I remembered “values of
beeta“ and remembered these are listed in betatab, and figured it was something
like that. Thank you for the response.
